About the Artist

I’m Shreya Chandra, an independent artist based in India, creating original paintings inspired by places, light, nature, and atmosphere.

My work moves across a range of subjects — from the vibrant ghats and timeless architecture of Banaras to vast oceans, glowing sunsets, mountains, forests, and imagined landscapes. What connects them is my fascination with colour, light, and the feeling a place or moment can hold.

Through my paintings, I seek to capture more than a scene. I’m drawn to the atmosphere of a place — the warmth of golden light, the movement of water, the stillness of a distant landscape, or the sense of wonder found in nature.

My Practice

I work across oil, acrylic, and gouache, allowing the subject and mood of each piece to guide the medium.

My larger original paintings often explore immersive landscapes, seascapes, and cityscapes, while my smaller works allow me to experiment with colour, atmosphere, and new ideas on a more intimate scale.

Every original artwork is created by hand and is one of a kind. I also offer fine art prints of selected works, making some of my most loved paintings available to collectors in different sizes and formats.

I also accept select commissions for collectors looking for a personalised original artwork.
